About the program
Simi Institute's competency-based Basic Machine Shop course lets adults build foundational machining skills at their own pace in a working lab. Learners practice safe shop procedures, read prints, calculate spindle speeds, use precision measuring tools, and operate lathes and milling machines while making their own tools.
Basic Machine Shop certificate pathway; completion is competency-based and may take longer than one fee period
